Wisconsin Company Slapped with Nine Violations

One follow-up inspection resulted in $51,590 worth of fines.

After OSHA performedperfeormed a follow-up investigation at a Wisconsin facility, nine violations were discovered summing to $51,590. Stroh Precision Die Casting has been inspected previous times in the past by OSHA, most recently in May.

In August 2011, Stroh came under scrutiny for training practices and appropriate used of protective gear. This led to the May inspection.

"Stroh Precision Die Casting is compromising the health and safety of its workers by allowing previously cited deficiencies to continue without correction," said Kim Stille, OSHA's area director in Madison in a statement on the agency’s website. "Providing appropriate personal protective equipment and training to employees on its use is vital to their long-term safety and health. OSHA is committed to protecting workers on the job.”

According to OSHA’s statement, there were five repeat violations, including failure to “provide appropriate hand protection, require workers to wear face protection, train workers on the use of personal protective equipment, properly label chemicals in the workplace and train workers on hazardous chemicals.”
