NHTSA Redesigns EMS Website
The agency says the new design makes it easier for EMS professionals to access training content, event information, and industry news.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s EMS Program has played a key role in improving U.S. highway safety, according to DOT, and in that spirit, NHTSA has introduced a redesigned www.ems.gov to help EMS personnel across the country.
They'll find more useful information faster using it, such as professional news, training content, event information, and essential safety information, the NHTSA announcement said.
"We know that our coordinated system of emergency medical services is reducing the tragic toll from traffic crashes on America's roadways," said NHTSA Administrator David Strickland. "Forty years later, NHTSA is more committed than ever to ensuring our EMS systems are equipped to meet the challenges in the 21st century."
NHTSA works closely with federal partner agencies through the Federal Interagency Committee on Emergency Medical Services (FICEMS) and receives expert guidance through the U.S. Department of Transportation's National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC) to assist the emergency medical services community nationwide.
