Education Center Applications Invited
OSHA set a June 15 deadline for applications from nonprofit organizations interested in joining the OSHA Training Institute Education Centers Program.
Nonprofit organizations interested in joining the OSHA Training Institute Education Centers Program have until 4:30 p.m. CDT on June 15 to submit their applications. The program serves private sector workers, supervisors, and employers within federal OSHA’s jurisdiction.
The agency said it does not decide in advance how many organizations to choose, but instead selects them "according to applicants' qualifications and ability to serve regional populations."
Education Centers have trained more than 250,000 students, including more than 38,000 during fiscal year 2011 alone. "The number of requests for occupational safety and health training from private sector and federal agency personnel continues to grow," said Dr. David Michaels, assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health. "In 2012, OSHA hopes to increase the number of OTI Education Centers capable of offering quality occupational safety and health training."

Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005-4102. A proposal conference will be held May 2 at that location to inform potential applicants about the training program, expectations for OTI Education Centers, and administrative and program requirements.
