DHS to Host Free Webinar on Critical Infrastructure Resiliency
The Department of Homeland Security Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR) Learning Series will host a free webinar on "Critical Infrastructure Resiliency: The Next Frontier in Homeland Security" on Wednesday, Jan. 6, from 3-4 p.m. (EST). The presenter will be Rand Beers, under secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate.
According to DHS, Beers will discuss the infrastructure protection mission and the important role of resiliency, addressing the complex interdependencies and important steps DHS and its partners are taking to protect the nation’s critical infrastructure. To register for the event, go to https://connect.hsin.gov/e33382319/event/registration.html.
The CIKR Series offerings are available free of charge and are highly recommended for the department’s private sector and government partners, including CIKR owners and operators and officials with responsibility for risk, security, and emergency management functions, DHS said. The Jan. 6 webinar was originally scheduled for Dec. 21 but was postponed because of weather conditions in the Washington, D.C. area. All those previously signed up to participate are automatically registered for the new time.
The next webinar in the series, planned for later this month (date and time to be announced) is titled “Infrastructure Protection for the 21st Century: Making Effective Use of Visualization Technology.” In February, the focus will be “Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards: An Update.”
