ASCC Announces Winner of Inaugural Fleet Safety Award
The American Society of Concrete Contractors awarded its first Fleet Safety Award to Seretta Construction Inc., Apopka, Fla. This is a new ASCC award. The winners were selected on the basis of number of accidents and the number of miles driven in 2008. Seretta accumulated 1,470,000 miles for 2008 with zero accidents.
Certificates of Recognition were awarded to 10 other ASCC members.
For contractors driving up to 499,000 miles in 2008: Canyon Contracting, Mount Airy, Md.; D & G Contractors, Leland, N.C.; Trademark Concrete Systems, Anaheim, Calif.; and Woodland Construction Co., Jupiter, Fla.
For contractors driving 500,000 to 999,000 miles in 2008: Gerace Construction Co., Midland, Mich.; Middle Georgia Concrete Construction, Atlanta, Ga.; and S.B. Ballard Construction Co., Virginia Beach, Va.
For contractors driving one million miles or more in 2008: All Phase Concrete Construction, Englewood, Colo.; Lindsay-Lampasona, Norfolk, Mass.; and Structural Preservation Systems, Hanover, Md.
ASCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of those who build with concrete, and to providing them a unified voice in the construction industry. Members include concrete contracting firms, manufacturers, suppliers, and others interested in the concrete industry such as architects, specifiers, and distributors.
