ASSE to Hold Safety Certification Workshops, Math Reviews
In an effort to provide safety, health, and environmental professionals with the opportunity to earn professional certifications, the American Society of Safety Engineers will offer math reviews and three-day certification preparation workshops on Sept. 20-26 in Reno, Nev.; Oct. 4-10 in Virginia Beach, Va.; Nov. 8-11 in Miami, Fla.; and Dec. 6-12 at ASSE headquarters in Des Plaines, Ill.
ASSE notes that, according to a study by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, SH&E professionals with certifications such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) can earn up to $30K more per year than persons without certifications.
The September workshops will be located at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino in Reno and will include a math review course on Sept. 20, the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Workshop from Sept. 21-23, and the CSP Workshop from Sept. 24 - 26. In October, the workshops will be held at the Founders Inn and Spa in Virginia Beach. The math review will take place on Oct. 4, the ASP Workshop will run from Oct. 5-7, and the CSP Workshop will take place Oct. 8-10.
November workshops will take place at the Hyatt Regency Miami with the math review on Nov. 8 and the ASP and CSP Workshops both taking place on Nov. 9-11. The final math workshop offered in 2009 at ASSE headquarters in Illinois will take place on Dec. 6, followed by the final ASP Workshop on Dec. 7-9 and the CSP Workshop on Dec. 10-12.
