Fire/EMS Safety, Health, and Survival Week Begins Today

International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Fire/EMS Safety, Health and Survival Week starts today and run through June 20, 2009. The theme this year is "Protect Yourself: Your Safety, Health, and Survival Are Your Responsibility," which reflects the need for personal responsibility and accountability within a strong safety culture.

In observance of this event, fire departments are encouraged to use this week to review safety policies, correct safety deficiencies, provide training as needed, and evaluate the progress of efforts to improve fire fighter safety and health.
