ASSE Veteran Receives Distinguished Service Award

The American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation announced that former ASSE Foundation Chair Kennith D. Brock, CSP, of Laconia, N.H., will receive the Foundation's Distinguished Service Award for his commitment to the occupational safety, health, and environmental profession and his service and leadership to the Foundation.

According to ASSE, during his tenure Brock was instrumental in negotiating large contributions from corporate donors, and he helped create a scholarship endowment program that has grown to more than $1.7 million today. He also successfully implemented a model for the Foundation's annual golf outing, which has netted the Foundation nearly $40,000 in three years.

In addition to serving as ASSE Foundation chair from 2004 to 2007, Brock has been a professional member of ASSE for more than 30 years. He also is a member of ASSE's Granite State Chapter and ASSE's Consultants and Risk Management/Insurance Practice Specialties. He currently serves as senior partner for Strategic Safety Solutions LLC.

The ASSE Foundation Distinguished Service Award recipients are chosen by the Foundation chair based on their outstanding achievement, commitment to and support of the ASSE Foundation. The award will be presented during ASSE's House of Delegates meeting at the ASSE Annual Professional Development Conference in San Antonio, Texas, which takes place June 28 through July 1.
