New Commissioner to Keynote Texas Worker's Comp Forum

The Council on Education in Management announced that Division of Workers' Compensation Commissioner Rod Bordelon will present a keynote address at the upcoming Texas Workers' Comp Forum, Oct. 1-3, taking place at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas. Other leaders in Texas worker's compensation will also be on hand to present updates on HB 7 reforms, claims-management strategies, case studies, and the latest developments on the burning issues facing the Texas worker's comp system.

Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed Bordelon on Aug. 28, 2008, to replace former Commissioner Albert Betts. Bordelon previously served in the Office of Public Insurance Council as public counsel and executive director. Andrea Davis, Conference Director, said, "We would like to congratulate Commissioner Bordelon on his appointment to the DWC and are excited that he will have the opportunity to meet and speak with all the workers' compensation shareholders who attend the Texas Workers' Comp Forum. We are honored to have him join the fantastic lineup of speakers at the event."

The Texas Workers' Comp Forum is approved for 16 credit hours by the Texas Department of Insurance, 15.75 credit hours by the CCMC, and 12.25 credit hours toward PHR and SPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). Each half-day workshop has been approved for 2.75 HRCI credit hours. For more information, visit the conference Web site at www.txwcforum.com.
