Fluor Corp. Named Sixth Member of VPP Corporate Pilot

Irving, Texas-based Fluor Corp., one of the largest publicly owned engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services companies, with more than 46,000 employees working in more than 25 countries across six continents, has been approved as the newest participant in OSHA's Voluntary Protection Programs Corporate Pilot, a program launched in May 2004 to streamline the application and onsite evaluation processes for organizations committed to VPP.

"Fluor Corporation has implemented a safety and health management system that reflects the quality standards set forth in OSHA's VPP," said Edwin G. Foulke, Jr., Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health. "As the newest member of the VPP Corporate Pilot, we applaud Fluor for achieving exemplary safety and health practices at all of its worksites and look forward to continuing our successful relationship to protect employees well into the future."

The VPP onsite evaluation team noted that Fluor demonstrates a culture of safety and health through all levels of the organization and makes effective use of a Web-based network of moderated forums to disseminate information and answer questions related to safety and health. Fluor is the sixth active participant to become part of the VPP Corporate Pilot, joining the Washington Division of URS Corp., Georgia-Pacific, General Electric Co., the U.S. Postal Service, and Dow Chemical Co.

"At Fluor, safety is one of our main corporate values and it impacts the lives of every one of our employees on a daily basis. We are honored to have been chosen to participate in OSHA's elite Corporate Voluntary Protection Program," said Fluor Chairman and CEO Alan Boeckmann. "The cooperative relationship between our two organizations will certainly help drive improvements in our own health, safety and environmental performance and add value for our clients. We are proud of our employees who have worked so diligently to achieve such exemplary safety performance."

With six active VPP sites, Fluor's many subsidiaries include AMECO Services Inc., DEL-JEN, Inc., Plant Performance Services LLC (P2S), and TRS Staffing Solutions Inc.
