AWMA Offers Webinars on Risk Management

The Air & Waste Management Association will present two Webinars for environmental professionals next month. The first, "Environmental Risk Management," will be Aug. 6 at 2:00 p.m. EST; the second, "A Small Problem: The New NSR PM 2.5 Rule," will be Aug. 27 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

"These Webinars will provide convenient opportunities for participants to get up to date on some of the latest environmental issues," said Adrianne Carolla, AWMA executive director. "The Webinars will discuss topics ranging from risks that companies face due to environmental hazards to the implications of recent rulings."

The Aug. 6 event is geared toward company owners, risk managers, and environmental health and safety officers responsible for their facilities. The Webinar will offer tips from experts on managing costly risks presented by environmental issues, including advice on resolving claims and satisfying responsibility without endangering companies' credit positions.

The Aug. 27 event will feature key industry instructors discussing the implications and challenges presented by the New Source Review Rule for fine particulate matter (PM 2.5), issued by EPA in May. The Webinar will provide an opportunity for facility managers and other environmental professionals to find out how budgeting, pollution control levels, and other variables will be affected by the rule.
