North Safety Products Acquires Swift First Aid

Norcross Safety Products L.L.C., the parent company of North Safety Products, announced the acquisition of Swift First Aid on April 15. "North Safety Products is very excited to have Swift join the North organization," North President Sid Ellis said in the company's news release. "Swift is a recognized leader in the U.S. first aid market. Combining North's and Swift's product offering with best-in-class service for our customers makes this a natural acquisition."

Swift was founded in 1948 and is based in Valencia, Calif. North, based in Cranston, R.I., already included first aid products among its lines of PPE for respiratory, hand, eye & face, head, hearing, and foot protection; clothing; welding; fall protection; lockout/tagout; safety signage; and traffic safety apparel and products. With the rest of Norcross, North is currently being acquired by Honeywell.

"Swift First Aid wanted to align itself with a market leader," said Greg Higgins, Swift's president. "North Safety Products' recognition as a leader in first aid and personal protective equipment provider will enable us to grow the market segment through additional channels, while carrying on the sixty years of Swift tradition of delighting our customers."
