Applications Being Accepted for IEA/Liberty Mutual Medal
The International Ergonomics Association is accepting entries for the IEA/Liberty Mutual Medal in Occupational Safety and Ergonomis. It has been restructured in 2008, replacing the previous IEA/Liberty Mutual Prize and IEA/Liberty Mutual Medal. The new medal, which carries a stipend of $10,000, will be awarded annually for original research leading to the reduction of work-related injuries and/or to the advancement of theory, understanding, and development of occupational safety research.
The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2008. The winner's work will be presented at the IEA’s Council meeting being held in summer 2008 in Reykjavík; the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, which posted a notice of the competition, said applicants will be notified of the results by mid-July.
Anyone who wants to be considered for the 2008 prize should submit an application to IEA Awards Committee Chair Pierre Falzon, CNAM, Laboratoire d'Ergonomie, 41 Rue Gay Lussac, 75005 Paris, France, e-mail [email protected].
An announcement of the award winner will be made public on Aug. 31, 2008. For more information, visit www.iea.cc/browse.php?contID=libertymutual_prize.
