State Fund Respiratory Protection Training Set for April 16

California's State Compensation Insurance Fund will present a free, two-hour "Establishing a Respiratory Protection Program" seminar April 16 in its San Bernardino office to help policyholders with this challenging task. Managers, supervisors, safety coordinators, and other program administrators are invited to hear a certified industrial hygienist's presentation and see two other CIHs demonstrate quantitative fit testing.

The training presentation by Industrial Hygiene Consultant Bonnie Sander will explain program setup, respirator selection, medical evaluations, fit-testing procedures for tight-fitting respirators, maintenance and care of respirators, respiratory hazards, and more. Then, Industrial Hygiene Manager Paul Michalko and Industrial Hygiene Consultant Tuan Nguyen will demonstrate quantitative fit testing. The location is State Fund's Inland Empire Policy Services office, 375 West Hospitality Lane, with the session starting at 9 a.m. To register, send an email to [email protected] or phone George Leebolt at 909-384-4742.

The training is part of a series of safety seminars offered by State Fund, which is California’s largest provider of workers' compensation insurance with about 200,000 policyholders. The agency has its headquarters in San Francisco.
