Free Black Lung Screening for West Virginia Miners Next Month
NIOSH said it will provide free, confidential health screening April 7-19 in 16 counties to help working underground coal miners detect pneumoconiosis, known as "black lung," in the early stages.
The screenings will be provided through NIOSH mobile testing van at convenient community locations during the period. For information about the NIOSH screening program, go to www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/surveillance/ORDS/ecwhsp.html or call 888-480-4042.
