OSHA Seeks ACCSH Nominations

OSHA announced in yesterday's Federal Register that nominations are being accepted for persons to serve on the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH). The committee was established under section 107(e) of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (40 U.S.C. 3704(d)(4)) to advise the Secretary of Labor on formulating construction safety and health standards and policy matters that arise in carrying out these responsibilities.

Nominations will be accepted for seven vacancies in the following categories: three employer representatives, three employee representatives, and one public representative. Members will serve a two-year term. Any interested person or organization may nominate one or more qualified persons for membership.

Nominations must be submitted no later than March 14, 2008, and should be submitted to the OSHA Docket Office, Room N-2625, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20210. The phone number is 202-693-2350. Questions can be addressed to Michael Buchet at 202-693-2020 or [email protected].

Nominations are also accepted electronically (see Federal Register notice for instructions), by FAX at 202-693-1648, messenger, or courier service. All nominations for ACCSH must include the agency name and docket number OSHA-2007-0088.

Nominees should be identified by name, occupation or position, address, and telephone number. The category which the candidate would represent should be specified and a resume of the nominee's background, experience, and qualifications should be included.
