Nominations for Firefighting Heroes Award Accepted Until Feb. 8
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, in partnership with Baskin Robbins Corp., is currently accepting nominations for the America's Firefighting Heroes Award. The award recognizes a member of the American fire-service community who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the ideals of community service and the protection of life and property as a first responder.
Chief fire officers may submit nominations until Feb. 8 for the awards, which will provide recognition to 31 individuals in two categories: valor and service. Eligible candidates include career and volunteer firefighters and emergency medical care providers who have performed a valorous act or have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support and assist their organizations and the communities in which they serve.
Baskin Robbins established the awards as part of its 31 Cent Scoop Night program, which raises the national awareness of the American fire service's work to support U.S. communities. This year’s campaign will highlight fire prevention measures to help eliminate the occurrence of fires in the home.
