AAOHN Delivers Liver Wellness Webcast Jan. 9

The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. is hosting a 1-hour webcast titled Liver Wellness: An Effective Approach to Hepatitis Prevention and Management tomorrow, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. EST. Participants will receive 1.0 CNE credit. The webcast will be conducted by internationally recognized lecturer Thelma King Thiel, RN, chairman and CEO of the Hepatitis Foundation International, and Corinna Dan, BSN, MPH, a registered nurse and former coordinator for the City of Chicago's Hepatitis C Program.

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to describe five life-preserving functions of the liver using easy-to-relate-to analogies; describe how drugs and viruses can damage the liver; identify types of viral hepatitis, transmission, symptoms, and treatments; and identify risk behaviors related to modes of transmission of viral hepatitis. Participants also will learn non-threatening communication techniques to motivate individuals to assess their own risk behaviors, seek testing and evaluation of their liver status, avoid liver damaging activities, and participate in their own healthcare.
