15-Day Extension for Comments on Private Aircraft Data Requirement
Customs and Border Protection, a DHS agency, is giving interested parties 15 more days, until Dec. 4, to comment on a proposed rule that will require pilots of private aircraft to electronically submit information on every person aboard the aircraft at least an hour before departure from a foreign location for the United States and before departure from a U.S. airport or location for a foreign destination.
The rule also would add data elements to the existing notice of arrival requirements, add a notice of departure requirement, and clarify landing rights procedures. Comments had been due by Nov. 19, but some parties asked for an extension, according to the notice signed by Sandra L. Bell, executive director of Regulations & Rulings in the DHS Office of International Trade.
