Videos Explain How to Spot, Report Rail Crimes

Fort Worth, Texas-based BNSF Railway Company is offering two new videos from its Citizens for Rail Security program that will assist community groups and law enforcement agencies. The videos show how effective both can be against terrorism and vandalism, and they explain what to report and to whom.

Citizens and law enforcement officers should be on the lookout for trespassers, suspicious packages or articles left on or near railroad property, unusual conduct in neighborhoods near tracks and yards, crimes in progress, and threats or hostile language against railroads, BNSF said Oct. 2.

For more information, visit the Citizens for Rail Security Web site at www.citizensforrailsecurity.com. BNSF operates about 32,000 route miles in 28 states and two Canadian provinces, moves more grain than any other American railroad, and moves enough low-sulphur coal to generate about 10 percent of the electricity produced in the United States.
