NSC Continues 'Gift of Sight' Eyeglass Donation Program
If you are one of the estimated millions of eyeglass wearers who have several outdated pairs stashed away in drawers or closets, here is your chance to focus on a good cause. As you're packing for NSC's 95th Congress & Expo commencing later this week, don't forget to add those old, unused pairs of eyeglasses to your luggage, because again this year the council is setting up a collection bin for them so they can be recycled into the gift of sight for men, women, and children throughout the world. The program is part of the NSC Community Safety Division's team effort with Lions International, Rotary International, and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity.
All types of eyeglasses and sunglasses (adult and child size), prescription and non-prescription, and reading glasses, are acceptable. The collection bin will be located onsite in the Registration area at McCormick Place South.
You may also make eyeglass donations any time of the year by mailing them to: National Safety Council, Attention: Judy Bernardi, Gift of Sight Program, 1121 Spring Lake Drive, Itasca, Illinois 60143.
