Don't Forget About 'Drug-Free Work Week,' DOL Reminds Us
DOL is continuing to remind employers and employees that the second annual Drug-Free Work Week, which began Oct. 14, continues through this Saturday. The purpose of this week, the department says, is to highlight the fact that working drug free is key to protecting workplace safety and to encourage workers with alcohol and drug problems to seek help.
In addition, DOL's Working Partners Web site (viewable at www.dol.gov/asp/programs/drugs/workingpartners/dfww-introduction.asp) offers a number of specific suggestions on how organizations can participate. Also available on the Web site at www.dol.gov/workingpartners are various educational materials, including drug-free workplace fact sheets, "tool box talks" for construction sites, and posters and stickers with the slogan "Working Drug Free Works."
