NTSB Evaluates States' Response to "Most Wanted List"
The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a public board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m., to discuss its "Most Wanted List" of safety improvements--a series of recommendations the agency has issued to states over the course of several years--evaluating how responsive states have been to those recommendations. According to NTSB, the issues discussed will include primary seat belt laws; youth highway safety; improved child occupant protection; "hard core drinking driving"; school buses at grade crossings; and recreational boating safety.
NTSB says it established the "Most Wanted List" in 1990 as a way to focus attention on needed safety improvements in all modes of transportation. The list highlights recommendations that, if implemented, NTSB believes will have a significant impact on reducing deaths and injuries.
The meeting will be held in the NTSB Board Room and Conference Center, 429 L'Enfant Plaza, SW, Washington, DC.
