DHHS Releases Pandemic Influenza Checklist

The Department of Health and Human Services has developed a checklist for law enforcement agencies that is designed to provide a general framework for creating a pandemic influenza plan. These agencies, DHHS says, will play a critical role in maintaining the rule of law as well as protecting the health and safety of citizens in their respective jurisdictions.

The key planning activities in this checklist are meant to complement and enhance existing all-hazards emergency and operational continuity plans. Many of the activities identified in this checklist will also help agencies to prepare for other kinds of public health emergencies.
