MCAA Releases "Twenty Top Hazards" DVD
The Mechanical Contractors Association of America Inc., which represents some 2,300 firms involved in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, piping, and mechanical service, has released a DVD titled "Twenty Top Hazards: Recognition & Protection." The program provides all the worker training that will fit into 14 minutes on the identification of 20 of the most common injury-causing hazards in mechanical construction, including how workers should protect themselves from these hazards while performing their jobs.
These are the top industry safety hazards the DVD addresses: materials handling; exposed body parts; struck-by hazards; eye hazards; sharp objects; slips & trips; exposed floor holes; ladders; aerial lifts; perimeter protection; falls; tool guards; damaged rigging; electrical hazards; power cords; welding leads; welding arcs; excavations; hazardous materials; and confined spaces.
