Bill Nye the Science Guy to Keynote IAQA Convention
Members of the Indoor Air Quality Association (Rockville, Md.) will welcome Bill Nye the Science Guy as the keynote speaker at its 10th Annual Meeting & Exposition Oct. 14-17, 2007, at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Nye, known internationally for combining humor with an uncanny ability to break down complicated science into layman's terms, will speak on energy conservation and IAQ. Along the way, the star of television, stage, and video is expected to talk about new innovations for indoor environments that are light years ahead of today's marketplace technology, IAQA said.
Expecting more than 1,000 participants, IAQA said the event will have the association's largest exhibit hall ever, an expanded program of technical sessions, and likely a larger audience than ever before. The convention will also feature a return to the concept that drew the founding members of IAQA together ten years ago: approaching IAQ from an interdisciplinary perspective. The association's technical program consists of a combination of discipline-specific programs--sessions created for distinct disciplines to impart knowledge about how to be more effective in their work--and "cross disciplinary" programs that are created to help two or more separate disciplines understand how to interface their responsibilities and expertise.
The event is aimed at those who manage IAQ in a facility, diagnose IAQ problems, design structures, or abate IAQ contamination problems. For information, visit www.iaqa.org.
