3E Co. Acquires MSDS Solutions
Carlsbad, Calif.-based 3E Co., a provider of EH&S compliance and information management services, has acquired Montreal, Canada-based MSDS Solutions, a company that for 16 years has provided an array of document management and indexation services related to Material Safety Data Sheets. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. A 3E press release said MSDS Solutions will continue to operate from its Montreal facilities as 3E Company Canada.
"MSDS Solutions is a successful and well-managed company with a singular focus on providing ASP vendor MSDS management solutions to the global market," said Robert S. Christie, 3E CEO and president. "This acquisition, especially following closely on the heels of our recent acquisition of HSE Systems in June, also demonstrates 3E Company's commitment to efficiently executing or M&A growth strategy.
3E said the acquisition would merge the two companies' respective strengths and MSDS databases to form "a complete, end-to-end cross-industry MSDS management solution for companies of all sizes and industries." 3E also plans to build on MSDS Solutions' Web portal, www.msds.com, "which serves as one of the largest MSDS databases in the world with more than 3.5 million MSDSs," according to the press release.
