Bacou-Dalloz to Become Sperian Protection
Bacou-Dalloz, a worldwide manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE), recently announced that, assuming approval is granted at its general shareholder's meeting on July 26, it will soon change its name to Sperian Protection. Along with the new name comes the creation of a new unifying identity the company says will embody the group's values and symbolize international expansion and new momentum.
Sperian, a news release says, will be the umbrella brand name bringing together the entire brand portfolio and reflects the group's desire to adopt effective advertising and marketing tools in order to consolidate its position as the world's market leader in PPE.
"In order to inaugurate a new stage in our history, reflect our new hope, and assert our ambitions as a group, Bacou-Dalloz is changing its name to Sperian Protection," said Henri-Dominique Petit, Bacou-Dalloz chairman and chief executive officer, as he presented the new identity to employees on June 20. "Chosen to carry our values to the highest level and illustrate the unity of all those who work for the group, Sperian is intended to symbolize the optimum quality of our product, advice, and services."
The company says the name Sperian evokes both the expertise of a group specialized in the protection of people at work and the relationship of trust between a worker and his equipment, as well as between the group and its customers. The new logo is meant to reflect the group's duty to protect people in the workplace. The "S" is formed by two protective arms in blue, meant to symbolize technology and expertise, wrapped around a core in orange, intended to symbolized life and energy at work.
The new identity will be rolled out gradually over the summer and, pending shareholder approval, company shares will begin to be listed under the name of Sperian Protection on Aug. 20. Also, customer-focused events will be held during the A+A trade fair in Düsseldorf and at the NSC congress in Chicago. This will be supported by an international advertising campaign in the professional and general press.
