Not Only at the Pump: Scott Specialty Gases Announces Price Hike
Plumsteadville, Pa.-based Scott Specialty Gases, which produces pure and mixed gases for environmental, industrial, laboratory, scientific, and other manufacturing applications, announced that it implemented a percentage price increase effective June 1 for all specialty pure gases and gaseous mixtures. Escalating costs of energy and quality raw materials are the drivers behind the increase, the company noted in a press release.
The price of helium and argon-based mixtures, as well as helium and argon pure gases raised by 10 percent. Methane-based mixtures and methane pure gases increased 7.5 percent. All other specialty pure gases and gas mixtures increased 5 percent. In addition, Scott's high-pressure cylinder rental increased to .32 cents per day.
