ARTBA Opens Registration for Fall Work Zone Safety Show
The American Road & Transporation Builders Association (ARTBA) opened its doors yesterday for registration at www.workzonesfety.org for the National Traffic Management & Work Zone Safety Conference, which is set for Oct. 9-12 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.
The event will bring together national transportation leaders and government and private-sector officials to discuss cutting-edge solutions to safety hazards of highway work zones. Sessions will focus on nighttime construction, preventing run-overs and back-overs, traffic flow, congestion management, and law enforcement in work zones.
The conference is being sponsored by ARTBA's Transportation Development Foundation National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse. Conference partners include the Federal Highway Administration, American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials, American Society of Civil Engineers, CNA, the Laborers’ Health & Safety Fund of North America, National Asphalt Pavement Association, International Union of Operating Engineers, and Texas Transportation Institute. It is being held in conjunction with Intertraffic North America (www.northamerica.intertraffic.com), a trade show for transportation infrastructure, traffic management, traffic safety, and parking industries.
