Physical Fitness, Nursing Compassion Focus of Orlando Presentations

Melissa Johnson, MS, executive director of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, will deliver the annual Catherine Dempsey lecture at the AAOHN 2007 Symposium and Expo in Orlando at Rosen Shingle Creek. Sure to be a highlight of the event, Johnson will speak Wednesday, April 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Panzacola G/H on the first floor, discussing the importance of incorporating physical activity in the workplace and ways it can be accomplished.

In the same auditorium, on Thursday, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jon Robison, Ph.D., MS, will deliver the event's closing keynote address, entitled "Celebrating the Compassion and Wisdom of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing: Caring for Ourselves as Well as We Care for the Employees" Robison, who is also a symposium presenter this year, conducting course numbers 7805--"Big Fat Lies: The Truth About Our Weight, Our Food and Our Health"--specializes in health promotion and human behavior, with a particular interest in "why people do what they do and don't do what they don't do." He also is co-editor of the journal Health At Every Size and has been helping people with weight and eating-related concerns for more than 15 years.
