NIEHS Seeks Comments on Children's Health Report
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), one of the National Institutes of Health, is accepting comments to help it maximize the value of the NIEHS research portfolio of investigator-initiated research on children's environmental health. NIEHS convened a working group to review the Centers for Children's Environmental Health and Disease Prevention Program in cooperation EPA, and now NIEHS want feedback on the working group's report.

NIEHS has invested millions of dollars on children's environmental health research during the past 30 years. To maximize the effectiveness of current and future investments, the institute is conducting this review. EPA has been involved for the past eight years; the Children's Centers draws on the expertise of top universities and medical centers to study how environmental toxicants influence the development of asthma, autism, and other childhood illnesses.
