AIHA Calls on Future Leaders to Act Now

The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) is accepting applications for its 2007 Future Leaders Institute, which is available online at www.aiha.org/futureleaders.htm.

In a written release, AIHA stressed that the institute is "a cornerstone of its efforts to develop early-career industrial hygiene professionals." Applications will be accepted until June 18. Applicants will be notified by Aug. 1 of acceptance.

The institute is designed to provide a unique and intimate learning experience, in which participants to learn alongside and from each other. Participants must not have more than 15 years of experience in the occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) profession, must envision greater possibilities for themselves and others, and want to engage in the self-assessment and ongoing learning that will allow them to realize their full potential.

The two-and-a-half-day event will take place on Sept. 13-16 in Chicago and will focus on the following areas:

  • Broadening interpersonal perspectives
  • Broadening organizational perspectives
  • Collaborative/teamwork efforts
  • Managing your future

AIHA covers the cost of accommodations, most meals, and course materials. Attendees will have to incur only the cost of travel to and from the hotel. For more information, visit www.aiha.org/futureleaders.htm or contact Aimée O’Grady at (703) 846-0768 or [email protected].
