FACOSH Nominations Due to OSHA by April 2

OSHA is accepting nominations until April 2 for positions on the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH). Five of the 16 seats on the council are being appointed, according to the agency's notice.

FACOSH is authorized by section 19 of the OSH Act to advise the secretary of Labor on all matters relating to the occupational safety and health of federal employees. The secretary appoints its members, and it is chaired by the OSHA administrator. Eight members are management representatives from federal agencies; two management representatives are being appointed this time. The other eight members represent labor organizations that in turn represent federal employees; three labor representatives are being appointed. The members serve staggered three-year terms.

To submit a nomination, submit via www.regulations.gov and identify the email by Docket No. OSHA-2007-0011, or fax it to the OSHA Docket Office at 202-693-1648. Submissions will be posted unchanged, including personal information provided, at www.regulations.gov, so OSHA cautioned submitters about sending personal information such as Social Security numbers and birthdates.
