Don’t Slip, Trip or Fall for It! General Industry Requirements for Fall Protection

There seem to be a lot of misconceptions and misunderstanding about the definition and application of fall protection requirements for General Industry. Fall protection is viewed and applied differently in the General Industry standards than it is in the Construction standards.

Through this presentation, the speaker hopes to clarify the differences, and how the General Industry and Construction regulations are applied to those workers not involved in “construction” work. Included are details of the definitions and requirements that apply under this standard. Also discussed are efforts by OSHA to bridge the gap and provide total fall protection coverage for these workers.
