This webinar occurred on: May 29, 2014

Construction safety leaders from OSHA, NIOSH and CPWR will point to the leading killer of construction workers – falls from heights – and offer resources provided through the Safety Pays, Falls Cost campaign to end this national tragedy. The webinar will also expand on the new, construction-focused initiative OSHA recently announced -- the nationwide Safety Stand Down, June 2-6.

Now in its third year, the national campaign to prevent falls in construction, Safety Pays, Falls Cost, has amassed three websites filled with information, handouts, toolbox talks and other resources for anyone interested in preventing a disabling or fatal fall. Christine Branche, Ph.D., FACE, of NIOSH will set the stage for the webinar with facts on the fall statistics. Pete Stafford of CPWR will open the door to the national campaign's website, StopConstructionFalls.com, showing some of its many resources, hearing about campaign partners' success stories, and highlighting the site's new look and features. OSHA's leader of the Construction Directorate, Jim Maddux, will not only cover the agency’s efforts in reducing falls, he will promote the soon-to-be-announced campaign initiative to raise awareness of fatal falls in construction and strengthen industry’s resolve to protect workers' lives. You'll find out how you, too, can join the campaign. And you can ask questions of all speakers during the OHS Q&A. It's your chance to talk to OSHA and to our nation's leading research institutions.
