This informative non-commercial presentation will focus on the requirements for electrical workplace safety as defined in the NFPA 70E® 2012 Edition - Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, and as enforced by OSHA. The material presented will provide practical information that is applicable for personnel engaged in all levels of facility operations, maintenance, safety, and executive management.

Electrical arc flash accidents occur five to 10 times per day in facilities in the United States, resulting in very serious disabling injuries and approximately one fatality per day. The human and financial consequences of these accidents are devastating to the victims as well as to the victim’s employer. Human error is nearly always a very high component in the chain of causative factors leading to such accidents. Eliminating these occurrences should be the ultimate the goal of a properly developed and managed electrical workplace safety program.
