Roofing Contractors Expose Workers to Fall Hazards: OSHA

Hugo's Roofing Contractors Inc. out of Wright City, Mo., has been cited by OSHA.

OSHA announced it has issued safety citations to Hugo's Roofing Contractors Inc., after workers were observed being exposed to fall hazards at a residential job site. OSHA cited the company for two willful violations.

A repeat violation was also issued for failing to provide eye protection while workers were using pneumatic nail guns.

"Hugo's Roofing Contractors continues to endanger the safety of its workers by refusing to ensure that adequate fall protection is used on the job sites. A worker can be severely injured or killed in a fall in mere seconds. Failing to protect them from harm is unacceptable," said Aaron Priddy, OSHA's area director in Fairview Heights, Ill. "Roofing contractors have a responsibility to train and protect their workers on job sites."
