AIHA Honoring 12 with Fellow Awards

AIHA Fellows are nominated by a local section, special interest group, committee, or other formal AIHA entity for their achievement in the field of industrial hygiene. Individuals are approved as Fellows by the AIHA Board of Directors after a recommendation by the Awards Committee.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association will honor 12 members as 2015 AIHA Fellows during the Mark of Excellence Awards Breakfast on June 3 at the 2015 American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition in Salt Lake City, the recipients will receive their awards that afternoon at a meeting of the AIHA Fellows Special Interest Group. The Fellow designation is limited to no more than 5 percent of AIHA's membership.

The 2015 AIHA Fellows are:

  • George E. Byrns, MPH, Ph.D., CIH, professor and program director of Environmental Health at Illinois State University
  • Joseph Barry Graffeo, CIH, industrial hygiene consultant with Elanco Environmental Health/Safety
  • L. Faye Grimsley, Ph.D., CIH, associate professor in the Department of Global Environmental Health Sciences at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine
  • Mark D. Hoover, Ph.D., CHP, CIH, senior research scientist at NIOSH
  • Chrysoula J. Komis, Ph.D., CIH, CSP, CHMM, RBP, senior scientist, Colden Corporation
  • Roger D. Lewis, Ph.D., CIH, chairman of the St. Louis University Department of Environmental and Occupational Health
  • Bruce E. Lippy, Ph.D., CIH, CSP, director of Safety Research for The Center for Construction Research and Training
  • Sheryl A. Milz, Ph.D., CIH, associate professor of public health at the University of Toledo
  • Richard L. Neitzel, Ph.D., CIH, assistant professor of environmental health sciences, University of Michigan
  • Andrea M. Sass-Kortsak, Ph.D., CIH, ROH, associate dean of academic affairs, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto
  • Michael V. Van Dyke, CIH, CSP, chief of environmental epidemiology, occupational health and toxicology, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
  • Martha A. Waters, Ph.D., MPH, CIH, senior research health scientist at NIOSH
