OSHA Accepting Nominations for Five FACOSH Members

The openings are for three management and two labor representatives to serve three-year terms, effective Jan. 1, 2016. May 15 is the deadline for nominations.

OSHA announced it is accepting nominations for five positions on the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health. The 16-member council has eight members representing federal agency management and eight representing federal employees; OSHA is accepting nominations for three management and two labor representatives to serve three-year terms, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Nominations may be submitted at www.regulations.gov or by mail or facsimile. See this Federal Register notice for details. The deadline for nominations is May 15, 2015.

OSHA's announcement said interested federal agency management officials who are their agencies' Designated Agency Safety and Health Official, or at an equivalent level of responsibility within their respective federal agencies, should submit nominations for management representative vacancies. Interested labor officials who have responsibilities for federal employee occupational safety and health matters within their respective labor organizations should submit nominations for labor representative vacancies.

FACOSH advises the secretary of Labor on all matters relating to the occupational safety and health of federal employees.
