UK to Observe National Men's Health Week

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has called on employers to support National Men's Health Week, June 9-15, in a bid to improve the health of male workers across the UK.

This year's theme, "Men and Work," aims to promote the use of the workplace to deliver positive health messages to men and to encourage them to take their health more seriously.

Ray Hurst, the president of IOSH, which is supporting National Men's Health Week, said, "National Men's Health Week is an excellent opportunity to highlight to male workers the importance of looking after their health. As well as badly affecting their own lives and that of their families, workers' ill health certainly isn't good for business either."

The Men’s Health Forum , which was founded in 1994, is an independent body that works with a wide range of individuals and organizations to tackle men's health issues.

Those who wish to get involved can download a free "resource pack" and register and report their activities at the Men's Health Forum Web site.
