Five WA Companies to Correct Errors in Reporting Hazardous Chemicals
The companies have agreed to comply with chemical emergency planning laws intended to protect communities and first responders during chemical emergencies.
Five Washington companies have agreed to correct errors in hazardous chemical reporting in order to comply with federal laws aimed at protecting citizens during chemical emergencies, according to EPA. The companies violated the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act by failing to report the storage of hazardous chemicals. All have agreed to correct their errors and pay their settlements with the EPA.
The companies in question are Thermo Fluids, Inc., TruGreen L.P., CLP Enchanted Village, LLC, Fleischmann's Vinegar Company, Inc., and Targa Sound Terminal. The companies paid the following in fines:
- Thermo Fluids, Inc.: $155,400
- TruGreen L.P.: $53,300
- CLP Enchanted Village, LLC: $16,347
- Fleischmann's Vinegar Company, Inc.: $15,600
- Targa Sound Terminal: $13,435
