Construction Services Firm Establishes ASSE Scholarship, Internship

In continued support of safety, health and environmental education and research, the Washington Division of URS recently donated $5,350 to the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation to fund a $5,000 safety and health scholarship, an internship that includes salary and living expenses, and an opportunity for the recipient to attend ASSE's annual Professional Development Conference to be held in San Antonio, Texas, June 28 through July 1. The recipient will be announced in early April.

"We are very happy to continue with our scholarship program through the ASSE Foundation," said Bradley D. Giles, P.E., CSP, Washington Division of URS vice president of Environmental Safety, Health & Security. "This process provides a great opportunity to support the academic pursuits of a talented young safety professional."
